Itinerary
Day 1: Logroño – Monasterio de Valvanera (70 km)
Get ready for the first stage of an unforgettable adventure! We’ll depart from the vibrant city of Logroño and head into the heart of the Sierra de la Demanda. This route will make you feel the grandeur of La Rioja’s natural landscapes. You’ll pedal through the historic lands of Daroca de Rioja and Nájera, the birthplace of kings and monasteries, before the scenery begins to transform. The route takes you through the forests surrounding Anguiano, and from there, the final climb to the Monastery of Valvanera will be your ultimate challenge. This sacred place, hidden among the mountains, will offer you peace and breathtaking views.

Day 2: Valvanera – Quintanar de la Sierra (98 km)
Today you face the longest and most challenging stage of the route. Leave behind the silence of the monastery to conquer the high peaks of the Sierra. The route will guide you through postcard-perfect landscapes, climbing and descending dreamlike passes. You’ll cover kilometers full of pure adrenaline, passing through the picturesque villages of Montenegro de Cameros and crossing into the neighboring province of Soria to explore the pine forests surrounding Vinuesa and Covaleda. A demanding stage, but one that rewards you with panoramic views and the feeling of having conquered one of northern Spain’s most beautiful routes.

Once you conquer the pass, enjoy a well-earned descent through the remote landscapes of Huerta de Arriba and Pazuengos, where the mountain’s tranquility is absolute. The route finishes in Ezcaray, a charming gem, perfect for recharging your energy while strolling through its arcaded streets and cozy squares.

Day 4: Ezcaray – Laguardia (80 km)
The landscape changes dramatically. Leave the mountains behind to pedal through a sea of vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see. Today is a day to enjoy the pleasure of riding through the land of wine. The route takes you through the heart of Rioja Alavesa, passing the iconic Haro and the majestic scenery of Labastida. You’ll ride along roads connecting legendary villages such as San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Elciego, where the modern architecture of the Marqués de Riscal winery contrasts with the traditional landscape. The stage ends in the walled town of Laguardia.

Profile: A more rolling stage, with gentle climbs and undulating terrain perfect for enjoying the scenery.

From there, you’ll connect with the Camino de Santiago, passing through the legendary village of Los Arcos and the vibrant town of Viana. The final stretch brings you back to bustling Logroño, completing five days of pure cycling adventure.
